Mindsake provides technology and administrative services, including practitioner profiles, booking, secure communication, video consultation facilities, record system access and payment administration.

Practitioners using Mindsake are independent professionals. Each practitioner is responsible for their own professional registration, insurance and clinical practice. 

Your practitioner is solely responsible for assessing whether their service is suitable for you and for all clinical decisions relating to your care. A booking does not guarantee a particular diagnosis, treatment, prescription or outcome.

If you have a concern about clinical care, raise it with the practitioner in the first instance unless you do not feel able to do so. Our complaints guidance explains the available routes.

Fees are agreed upon prior to commencing sessions.  Your booking is confirmed when you receive a booking confirmation. Payment is due at the time of booking or upon receipt of the invoice.  For diagnostic assessments, independent clinicians require full payment at the time of booking to secure the appointment slot. These assessments often involve substantial preparation and clinician time.  

When you pay through Mindsake, we collect the fee on the practitioner’s behalf and pass it to them. Any platform or administrative charge will be displayed before payment.   

Consultant psychiatrists

Every consultant psychiatrist on the platform is registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a licence to practise.  Some psychiatrists provide treatment face-to-face only, in reliance on a recognised exemption from Care Quality Commission (CQC) registration for certain medical practitioners; others may hold their own individual CQC registration, which allows them to also offer remote treatment. Either way, where CQC registration applies to a psychiatrist’s practice, it is held by that psychiatrist individually, not by Mindsake.

Clinical psychologists

Every clinical psychologist on the platform is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Psychological therapy and diagnostic assessment, when provided by an HCPC-registered psychologist on their own professional responsibility, fall outside CQC’s registration requirements.

Mindsake itself

Mindsake (Farrar Bolton Ltd) is a technology and administration platform. It is not registered with the CQC, because it does not itself carry on any activity regulated by the Health and Social Care Act 2008 — all clinical services are provided directly by the independent clinicians named on this site, each of whom holds the regulatory status described above in their own right.
