Specialist in Neurodivergence, Trauma & Relational Work
Monika Markowska is an Advanced BABCP accredited therapist who believes that the best work happens when you feel truly seen and understood—not as a "patient," but as a person. Known for her warm, down-to-earth, and compassionate style, Monika works with adults, young people, couples and families to navigate the complexities of mental health and neurodivergence.
If you’ve ever felt intimidated by the idea of "clinical" therapy, Monika’s approach is designed to change that. She is widely recognised for her sense of humour and relatable nature, bringing a necessary lightness to the therapy room. She believes that while the work can be deep and life-changing, it doesn't have to feel heavy all the time. By using humour and genuine connection, she creates a space where you can explore your challenges at your own pace without feeling judged.
With over 13 years of experience across the NHS and private practice, Monika has extensive experience in supporting individuals with a wide range of difficulties. Her specialisms include:
Monika has a passion for working with young people navigating the transition into adulthood, as well as adults who feel stuck or held back by past traumas.
She recognises that we are often subconsciously guided by societal pressures and the expectations of others, which can lead to low self-esteem and prevent us from realising our own true values and needs. Monika works closely with her clients to peel back these layers, helping them discover life directions that truly resonate with who they are.
Monika’s creativity extends far beyond her clinical work. She is a dedicated sculptor, finding that the process of shaping clay mirrors the patience and care required in therapy. She also plays the saxophone , enjoys drawing , and is, by her own admission, completely obsessed with her pug, Maurice .
